Crew Privacy Policy

International Yacht Collection Crew Privacy Policy and Data Protection

International Yacht Collection Crew's online service is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. We want to provide a safe and secure user experience. We will ensure that the information you submit to us via our website at www.iyc.com remains private, and is only used for the purposes set out in this policy. Our records will be kept for a minimum of 3 years.

The information we collect and how we use it

Your personal details, including your name, e-mail address, the documents in accordance to the position you are applying for and your CV, are held and used by us for the following purposes:

  1. For matching your coded details with job vacancies, to assist us in finding you the position that most suits you;
  2. For keeping you informed of International Yacht Collection Crew services, news and wider developments in your chosen field.

Disclosures of your information

We will share your information within the International Yacht Collection company where necessary in order to provide you with our placement services.

Your CV and related documents and information will be sent to prospective employers.

We reserve the right to release information relating to you to regulatory or law enforcement authorities, if we are required to do so.

We also reserve the right to disclose information we have collected about you to our professional advisors and to other persons, to the extent that IYC Crew may contract out any aspect of the operation of its placement agency services to a third party. These third parties will be acting under similar undertakings of confidentiality as IYC Crew.

New job openings

Your email address will be used for the purpose of keeping you informed, by e-mail, of the latest jobs via new job openings.

Should you decide that you no longer wish to receive the new job openings, please contact jhowarth@iyc.com.

Curriculum Vitae ("CV")

We give you the option of submitting your CV via this website. You can do this either to apply for a specific advertised job or for consideration for positions as they come up. Although your CV will be stored online, it will only be accessible by International Yacht Collection Crew. Your CV will also be e-mailed directly to prospective employers (yacht captains of sailing and motor yachts and charter brokerage firms) who review your details.

You can update your CV at any time, simply by following the same procedure to submit a new CV. Your old CV will automatically be replaced. Please then delete your old CV to avoid confusion.

Crew login

In the steps to making your IYC Crew profile, you will create an account login and a password. It is your sole responsibility to (a) maintain the confidentiality of your account login and password; (b) frequently update and revise your password; and (c) promptly notify IYC Crew if there is any unauthorised use of your account or any breach of security.

Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small data file which is sent from a web server to a web browser when that browser visits the server's site. Cookies are used on the iyc.com website to remember your login, to track web traffic on an aggregate basis so that no individuals are identified and to keep session information, such as your last search (however, this information is disposed of every time you close your web browser). You have the right, at any time, to ask us for a copy of the information supplied by you that we hold. If you would like to make a request for this information, please contact jhowarth@iyc.com. You also have the right to ask IYC Crew to stop using your information.

Given that the Internet is a global environment, using the Internet to collect and process personal data necessarily involves the transmission of data on an international basis. Therefore, by browsing this web site and communicating electronically with us, you acknowledge and agree to our processing of personal data in this way.
